During mall hours, you can view the interior entrance to the store—or Prayer Center—as well.

Location: 2070 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, Charleston, SC

2. South Park Plaza (West Ashley)

While you’re at the Citadel Mall, you can also visit Gemstones Studios, which are located next door at the South Park Plaza building. 3. North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center (North Charleston)

The North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center serves as the Gemstone Salvation Center—and is one of the most prominent Charleston filming locations featured in Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of The Righteous Gemstones. Location: 5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston, SC

4. Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Park (North Charleston)

This “The Righteous Gemstone” filming location was used for the baptism scene in the show’s opening scene. However, the water park has its own separate admission fee, which is normally $24 per person or $15 per person after 3:00pm Monday through Friday.

Location: 8888 University Boulevard, North Charleston, SC

5. Aviation Square Shopping Center (North Charleston)

The parking lot of Aviation Square Shopping Center in North Charleston is the location of one of the most pivotal scenes in Season 1 of The Righteous Gemstones. Location: 6185 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC

6. Atlantic Aviation CHS (North Charleston)

Atlantic Aviation CHS is located on the grounds of Charleston International Airport, but the hangar can be seen briefly from the road when driving past on South Aviation Avenue.

7. Embassy Suites (North Charleston)

Location: 5055 International Boulevard, North Charleston, SC

8. Fenwick Hall (Johns Island)

The Gemstones’ “compound” isn’t actually a compound at all. Instead, Eli, Kelvin, and Jesse’s homes are all located in different areas around the lowcountry. But, Eli’s mansion is one that you can visit on your tour of “The Righteous Gemstones” filming locations in Charleston. Eli’s mansion is Fenwick Hall on Johns Island. According to reports, Fenwick Hall is currently privately owned and not open to the public; however, you can visit the entrance to the property off of Maybank Highway to get a feel for the Gemstones’ “compound” in real life.

Location: 30 Fenwick Hall Allee, Johns Island, SC

9. Poplar Grove Equestrian Center (Ravenel)

While you’re on the west side of town, you can visit the location of the “Texas” ranch where the Gemstones meet Joe Jonas. This scene was filmed at the Poplar Grove Equestrian Center in Ravenel, just a short drive past Johns Island down Highway 17. The show added lots of decorations (and longhorns) for filming, but you’ll easily recognize the building and gravel roads that appeared in the show and the Season 2 trailer.

Location: 4942 County Line Road, Ravenel, SC

10. Liberty Tap Room (Mount Pleasant)

The restaurant that the Gemstones regularly visit after church is the former Liberty Tap Room in Mount Pleasant. While this is no longer an actual restaurant in real life, you can visit the building to take photos during your tour of the Gemstones filming locations in Charleston.

Location: 1028 Johnnie Dodds Boulevard, Mount Pleasant, SC

11. Sticky Fingers (Mount Pleasant)

Sticky Fingers (which also is no longer in business) was another Mount Pleasant restaurant used as a filming location for The Righteous Gemstones in Charleston. For the show, the restaurant was renamed Sticky Stephen’s. It appeared as a barbecue joint (just like the old restaurant) in Season 2.

Location: 916 Houston Northcutt Boulevard, Mount Pleasant, SC

12. Sky Zone (Mount Pleasant)

The Sky Zone trampoline park in Mount Pleasant features in one of Kelvin’s youth ministry efforts. Once you’re there, you’ll instantly recognize the trampoline park from the show; and, since you’re there, you might as well stay and have some fun.

Location: 411 Wando Park Boulevard, Mount Pleasant, SC

13. Eternal Father of the Sea (North Charleston)

Eternal Father of the Sea is a small wedding chapel located in North Charleston right next to Riverfront Park. This “The Righteous Gemstones” filming location in Charleston served as the place of worship for Reverent John Wesley Seasons, who was played by the well-known actor Dermot Mulroney.

Location: 1097 Navy Way, North Charleston, SC

14. Gaillard Center (Downtown Charleston)

The Gaillard Center in downtown Charleston features prominently in several scenes in Season 2 of The Righteous Gemstones. It’s grand façade has been featured in several other movies and televisions shows as well. In Season 2 of The Righteous Gemstones, the Gaillard Center is used as the location where the Gemstone family meets with other church leaders—and where Mac Butterfield ends up jumping from the second-story balcony.

Location: 95 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC

15. St. Phillips Island (Beaufort)

While it’s a decent drive from Charleston, St. Phillips Island near Beaufort is well worth the visit. Not only is it the filming location for Zion in Season 2 of The Righteous Gemstones, but it is also one of the most unique beaches you can visit on the entire East Coast. While you can drive most of the way, you’ll need to buy a ferry ticket to get onto the island.

Location: 1928 Sea Island Parkway, St. Helena Island, SC (this is the location for the ferry departure)

16. Shem Creek Boardwalk (Mount Pleasant)

Back on the north side of town, the Shem Creek Boardwalk was used as the location where Eli runs into his old friend Junior in Season 2. Like the Gaillard Center, the Shem Creek Boardwalk is another popular filming location that has appeared in other shows as well (including featuring prominently in Netflix’s Outer Banks).

Location: 1402 Shrimp Boat Lane, Mount Pleasant, SC

17. Danny Jones Complex Armory (North Charleston)

The Danny Jones Complex Armory in North Charleston is used as the location of the wrestling and boxing venues in Season to of The Righteous Gemstones. While this wasn’t more of the more prominently featured filming locations in the show, it is still worth a quick stop while you’re touring other filming locations in the North Charleston area.

Location: 5000 Lackawanna Boulevard, North Charleston, SC

18. Lebanon Quick Stop (Ridgeville)

Like St. Phillips Island, this filming location requires a bit more of a drive, but it’s worth it to revisit one of the more memorable scenes from Season 2. The Lebanon Quick Stop (and El Cheapo gas station) can be seen in the scene where Jesse and Amber end up in the middle of a shootout after being chased by a gang of dirt bike riders—before Gideon comes to the rescue.

Location: 3147 State Road, Ridgeville, SC

19. El Molino (West Ashley)

In a scene that appears likely still to come in Season 3 (HBO has only released Episodes 1 and 2 so far), The Righteous Gemstones staged what appears to be a natural disaster in the parking lot of El Molino in West Ashley. We’re curious to see how this fits into the Season 3 plot line.

Location: 1610 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, Charleston, SC

20. Main Street (Moncks Corner)

For the final stop on our tour of “The Righteous Gemstones” filming locations in Charleston, we’ll pick another one that we’re expecting to see in Season 3. According to news reports, the show filmed on Main Street in Moncks Corner in late 2022. This would put the scene somewhere in Season 3, and it appears likely to be a nighttime scene, as local roads were closed between 6:00pm and 6:00am in November.

Location: Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC (between Library Street and West Railroad Avenue)
